Inking Collagraph plates course
Thursday 16th and Friday 17th June. 10.00 – 4.00
Do you spend ages making textured collagraph plates only to be disappointed with the printed results? This could be the course for you!
We will begin by creating plates with a range of textures, using both ‘found’ materials and hand made textures. Sealing the plates has a big effect on how well they print so you will understand the different options for filling and sealing the surface, before getting to grips with the best ways of inking them to enhance the depth and all the details. We will mix up a range of inks, explore the difference between opaque and transparent ink, and combine intaglio and relief inking methods.

Courses run in my print studio at Copmanthorpe near York, UK.
There is a maximum of four students to ensure everyone has space and time to get the most out of the course. All materials are provided, as well as drinks and biscuits, the only thing you need to bring is a packed lunch.
The course is suitable for all levels of printmaking experience, or none at all. Everybody creates a mini portfolio of unique original prints to take home.
