Mono prints are one off prints which can be made without a printing plate. If a plate is used it is inked differently each time to produce a range of unique images.
Mono prints can be very expressive and are often made quite quickly without lots of planning ahead. If you want to test out ideas and techniques, use up bit and pieces, and generally let your intuition guide you, mono printing is the way to go.
